Description
Description
Nylon Plastisol Ink is a bleed-resistant ink built for the fabrics that give plastisol the most trouble — nylon and polyester. It blocks dye migration and adheres to slick nylon when mixed with the required catalyst, printing bold, opaque color in 16 colors. Cures at 290–300°F. CPSIA-compliant and phthalate-free, made in Hackensack, New Jersey.
16 colors. Quart, gallon and 5 gallon. Heat cure. Made in the USA.
⚠ Nylon adhesion requires a catalyst. For printing on nylon, you must mix in Nylon Bond 289 Additive so the ink bonds to the fabric. Follow the additive's mix ratio and pot-life instructions. On polyester, the catalyst is not required.
Also available in larger quantities — 30-gallon and 55-gallon drums; call 201-487-9600 for volume and discount pricing.
Features & benefits
- Bonds to nylon — with Nylon Bond 289 catalyst, adheres to slick nylon jackets, bags and activewear
- Bleed-resistant — blocks dye migration on nylon and polyester
- Prints nylon & polyester — one ink for the hard-to-hold synthetics
- High opacity — bold, solid color coverage
- Creamy & print-ready — smooth lay-down on manual or automatic presses
- 16 colors, quart to 5 gallon (plus 30 & 55 gallon drums)
- CPSIA-compliant & phthalate-free — made in the USA
Always run a test print first. Nylon varies a lot — before any production run, print and fully cure a catalyzed test on your exact garment and check adhesion (do a stretch and wash test), opacity and dye migration. It's the best habit in the shop — if you're not sure on settings, call us at 201-487-9600 before you run the job.
What it prints on
- Nylon — jackets, bags, activewear; mix in Nylon Bond 289 for adhesion
- Polyester — the bleed-resistant chemistry holds back dye migration (no catalyst needed)
Printing & curing
- Catalyst: for nylon, add Nylon Bond 289 per its mix ratio; use catalyzed ink within its pot life
- Mesh: 110–160 for opacity; finer for detail
- Squeegee: 65, 75 or 80 durometer — or a 70/90/70 triple durometer
- Flash: 240–260°F; keep flash low and brief to avoid triggering dye migration
- Cure: curing is a time-and-temperature process — bring the full ink film to 290–300°F (143–149°C); confirm with a temp gun or donut probe, not dryer air temp
