Description
Description
40000 Series Gloss Vinyl Screen Printing Ink is a solvent-based, air-dry industrial ink for pressure-sensitive vinyl — decals, stickers, labels and vinyl graphics. It bonds and flexes with calendered and cast vinyl and dries to a gloss finish. Very mild odor, no aggressive solvent, with exterior durability for long-lasting graphics.
⚠ Industrial use only. This is an industrial solvent ink for vinyl and signage. It is not a textile or garment ink and is not intended for printing on apparel or for skin contact.
Gloss finish. Air dry. Quart, gallon and 5 gallon. Made in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Substrates & end uses — what the 40000 Series is for
Formulated for a wide variety of high-plasticized vinyl substrates and other flexible sign media:
- Most vinyl substrates — calendered and cast
- Rigid PVC
- Pressure-sensitive decals
- Coated polyester (Mylar®)
Ideal for decals, stickers, labels and durable indoor/outdoor vinyl graphics that need a gloss finish. Note: certain vinyl coatings, castings and extrusions can contain materials incompatible with the 40000 Series — always test first. Need a flat finish? Use the 43000 Series Matte Vinyl.
Recommended companion products
Match your 40000 Series ink with the correct reducer, retarder and cleaner. Add modifiers by weight and always test on your exact substrate first.
- OPTI 920 Slow Thinner — the standard reducer for this series. Reduce 5–10% by weight for smooth flow and extended open time.
- OPTI 912 Fast Thinner — speeds drying for faster turnaround.
- OPTI 934B Retarder or OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder — add 3–5% to slow drying in hot, humid conditions and improve bite on vinyl.
- OPTI 911 Wash-Up Thinner, OPTI 902 Lacquer Wash-Up or OPTI 925 Mild Lacquer Wash-Up — clean screens, squeegees and tools after printing.

Adhesion on solvent inks is substrate-specific. Always run an adhesion and solvent-resistance test on your exact vinyl before a production run.
