Description
Description
10000 Series Multi-Vac Solvent Ink is a solvent-based, air-dry industrial ink built to be printed flat, then vacuum-formed — it stretches and draws with the plastic during thermoforming without cracking, and also serves as a general-purpose ink across a range of rigid plastics.
⚠ Industrial use only. This is an industrial solvent ink for plastics and industrial products. It is not a textile or garment ink and is not intended for printing on apparel or for skin contact.
35 colors. Quart, gallon and 5 gallon. Air dry. Made in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Substrates & end uses — what the 10000 Series is for
An industrial solvent ink formulated to print and bond on a wide range of rigid and vacuum-formed plastics:
- ABS
- Acrylic
- Butyrate
- Polystyrene
- Polycarbonate
- COP (Cyclic Olefin Polymer)
- Vacuum-formed / thermoformed plastics — print flat, then form into shape
Typical jobs: point-of-purchase displays, formed plastic parts, gauges and lenses, and general rigid-plastic printing.
Recommended companion products
Match your 10000 Series ink with the correct reducer, retarder and cleaner. Add modifiers by weight and always test on your exact substrate first.
- OPTI 971 Slow Thinner — the standard reducer for this series. Reduce 5–15% by weight for smooth flow and strong adhesion on plastics.
- OPTI 938 Fast Thinner — speeds drying for faster turnaround or cooler shop conditions.
- OPTI 980 Retarder or OPTI 999 Super Retarder — add 2–3% to stop the ink drying in the screen on long runs or in hot, humid shops.
- OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder — add 2–3% for extra bite and adhesion on tough-to-print plastics.
- OPTI 902 Lacquer Wash-Up or OPTI 925 Mild Lacquer Wash-Up — clean screens, squeegees and tools after printing.
Which solvent series do I need?
- Vacuum-form / multi-purpose plastics — 10000 Series (you're here)
- Coroplast / corrugated plastic signs — 80000 Series
- Pressure-sensitive vinyl, gloss — 40000 Series
- Pressure-sensitive vinyl, matte — 43000 Series
- Metal, glass, ceramic, hard non-porous — 20000 Series (epoxy)
- Polyester film, nameplates, overlays — 76000 Series
- Flexible / treated plastics, durable outdoor — 66000 Series
- Industrial maintenance topcoat — 30000 Series
Adhesion and formability are substrate-specific. Always run an adhesion test — and a forming test if thermoforming — on your exact plastic before a production run.

- Safety glasses — to protect against splashes.
- Mask — a solvent/organic-vapor respirator mask when ventilation can't keep vapors down (not a dust mask).
- Storage — keep sealed and upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, sparks, flame and sun; ground containers when transferring.
See the product SDS for the GHS signal word, flash point and HMIS ratings before use.
Compliance
