OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder – 66000 Series

OPTI 922 Biting Solvent & Retarder (formula T-922, gamma-butyrolactone) does two jobs: it bites into tough, hard-to-print surfaces for better adhesion, and it retards drying to keep ink open in the mesh. Primary additive for the 66000 Polyurethane series, and a bite/retarder booster for vinyl (40000/43000) and hard plastics (10000).

⚠ Industrial use only. An industrial solvent ink additive — keep away from apparel and skin contact.

Add 2–5% by weight. Quart, gallon and 5 gallon. Made in Hackensack, New Jersey.

What it does

• Bite: improves adhesion on tough, flexible and dense plastics.
• Retard: slows drying so ink won't set up in the screen on long runs.
• Use sparingly and test — too much biting solvent can attack sensitive substrates.

Safety, PPE & OSHA compliance

Flammable solvent-based product — handle per the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200); a GHS Safety Data Sheet ships with every order and must be kept accessible to employees.

• Gloves — chemical-resistant nitrile (not latex).
• Safety glasses — to protect against splashes.
• Mask — a solvent/organic-vapor respirator mask when ventilation can't keep vapors down (not a dust mask).
• Storage — keep sealed and upright in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from heat, sparks, flame and sun; ground containers when transferring.
