Description

GENERAL PURPOSE PLASTISOL INK – PFGP SERIES

63 Colors | Made in the USA

We manufacture our PFGP General Purpose Plastisol Ink in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is our regular plastisol line for printing on 100% cotton.

The ink has good coverage, a creamy consistency, and a flexible finish once cured. It can be used on manual or automatic presses for T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and other cotton garments.

We offer 63 colors. General Purpose White can also be used as an underbase when printing lighter colors on dark cotton.

For polyester, we recommend our All Purpose or Athletic series instead. Those inks are better suited for fabrics where dye migration can become a problem.

INK INFORMATION

Type: Plastisol
Series: PFGP
Colors: 63
Recommended Fabric: 100% Cotton
Finish: Smooth and Flexible
Presses: Manual and Automatic
Manufactured in: Hackensack, NJ

PRINTING SETUP

Mesh: 110–355
Squeegee: 65–80 Durometer
Flash: 240–260°F
Cure: 330–350°F

For solid colors and white underbases, 110–160 mesh is a good starting point.

For everyday multicolor printing, try 180–230 mesh.

For small details and halftones, 230–305 mesh is commonly used. Higher mesh counts may work for very fine artwork.

A 75-durometer squeegee is a common choice for general printing. Softer blades usually deposit more ink, while harder blades provide better control.

A 70/90/70 triple-durometer squeegee can also be used.

FLASHING AND CURING

Flash the ink only when needed between colors. The surface should be gelled enough to print the next color without picking up wet ink.

Don't overflash. Too much heat can make subsequent colors difficult to print.

The entire ink deposit needs to reach 330–350°F for proper curing.

Check the temperature of the ink, not just the setting on your dryer.

Thicker prints may need more time in the dryer.

We recommend a wash test before running a large order.

PRINTING ON DARK COTTON

Some colors will need a white underbase when printing on black or dark cotton.

Print the white first, flash as needed, and then print your remaining colors.

Keep the ink deposit under control. Too much ink can leave a heavy print.

INK ADDITIVES

Quick Flash Reducer
Used to adjust ink consistency. Follow the recommended mixing instructions.

Soft Hand Base
Can soften the finished print. Adding too much may reduce opacity.

Badass Puff Additive
Used for raised puff printing effects.

Nylon Bond 289
Used for certain applications requiring additional adhesion to compatible synthetic fabrics.

Test any modified ink before production.

CLEANING

OPTI Wash 125
For cleaning plastisol ink from screens, squeegees, and equipment.

OPTI Spot 303
