GENERAL PURPOSE WHITE PLASTISOL INK – PFGP SERIES
High Opacity | 100% Cotton | Made in the USA
We manufacture our General Purpose White Plastisol Ink in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is our standard white plastisol for printing on 100% cotton garments.
The ink has good opacity, a creamy consistency, and a smooth finish once cured. It can be printed directly onto cotton or used as a white underbase when printing other colors on dark garments.
PFGP White works on manual and automatic presses. It's commonly used for T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and other cotton products.
For polyester or garments prone to dye migration, we recommend using one of our low-bleed or polyester-specific white inks.
INK INFORMATION
Type: Plastisol
Series: PFGP
Color: White
Opacity: High
Recommended Fabric: 100% Cotton
Finish: Smooth and Flexible
Presses: Manual and Automatic
Manufactured in: Hackensack, NJ
PRINTING SETUP
Mesh: 110–200+
Squeegee: 65–80 Durometer
Flash: 240–260°F
Cure: 330–350°F
For solid white prints and underbases, 110–160 mesh is a good starting point.
For lighter ink deposits, higher mesh counts such as 180–230 may be used.
A 75-durometer squeegee is a common choice for everyday printing. Softer blades generally deposit more ink, while harder blades provide better control.
A 70/90/70 triple-durometer squeegee can also be used.
Adjust your pressure to clear the screen without forcing excessive ink into the fabric.
PRINTING WHITE ON DARK COTTON
For white designs on black or dark cotton, mesh selection and ink deposit will affect coverage.
A print-flash-print method can be used when additional opacity is needed.
Print the first layer, flash until the surface is gelled, and print the second layer.
Avoid excessive ink buildup. A heavy deposit can make the finished print stiff.
USING WHITE AS AN UNDERBASE
PFGP White can be used beneath other plastisol colors when printing on dark cotton.
Print the white first and flash as needed before applying the remaining colors.
The underbase helps keep the colors printed above it from being affected by the dark garment.
For multicolor jobs, use only the amount of white necessary to achieve the desired coverage.
FLASHING AND CURING
Flash Temperature: 240–260°F
Flash only until the surface is gelled enough to accept the next color.
Avoid overheating the white ink. Excessive flashing can affect the adhesion of subsequent colors.
Cure Temperature: 330–350°F
The entire ink deposit must reach the recommended curing temperature.
Check the actual ink temperature rather than relying only on your conveyor dryer's settings.
White ink deposits can be heavier than standard colors and may require additional time in the dryer.
Always perform a wash test before starting a large production run.
