Description
Replacement cutting blades for Silhouette machines. The blade is the single biggest factor in cut quality — a worn or wrong-type blade shows up as rounded corners, torn vinyl, and designs that won't weed cleanly.
Which blade do I need?
| Blade | What it does | Use for |
|---|---|---|
| AutoBlade | Self-adjusting — the machine sets blade depth for you from your material choice | Cameo 3 and newer. The default for everyday vinyl and HTV. |
| Standard (Ratchet) | Manual depth adjustment via the ratchet cap | Older machines, and anyone who wants direct control over depth |
| Deep Cut (2mm) | Steeper angle, deeper maximum cut | Thick materials — chipboard, craft foam, heavy cardstock, magnet sheet, thick leather |
The Deep Cut blade is not a replacement for the others. Its steep angle cuts through thin vinyl and into the backing, so keep a standard or AutoBlade for normal work and swap to Deep Cut only for thick stock.
Getting the most out of a blade
- Set depth so the blade cuts the material and only scores the liner. Cutting through the backing destroys the tip fast.
- Always test cut before running a full design.
- Keep the blade housing clean — adhesive and vinyl scraps collect inside and stop the blade swivelling freely, which reads as rounded corners on tight curves.
- Blades are consumable. If cut quality drops after cleaning and re-testing, replace the blade before blaming the material.
